Why Sony is not releasing new updates for Arc

From past two days there is not even a single SI No. Updated and even you  people are not interested in telling when you are going to release updates for xyz country .

If you find your SI in the released software table the software for your device is released and available in PC Companion and Bridge for Mac where you can update your Xperia™ Smartphone.

We will continue to add items in the list as soon as they are released.

We will however not be able to answer on questions like: "When will SI number XXXX-XXXX be added to this list?" or "when will country X get the update?"

Hey bto juzz stop copy paste thing if Sony don't want to tell when it they are going to put update it's fine but what's wrong with you guys coz from past two days u r not able to update even a single SI update at atleast put those one who already un locked.

Bro I am owner of a Sony product which.mean I have full right to ask my question and instead of giving me an answere your are yelling on me and saying stop opening new thread

You know, given the state of the previous update, most of the Sony users actually expected to get improvements over the bad condition from 4.0.3 in 4.0.4. Sony did announce a non-tested update to be released and now it is completely normal for the users to ask those questions. What Sony should have done is to prepare all the SI numbers for all the 2011 devices and then to announce the update. This way nobody would have to wait and everybody is happy.

I can only guess why Sony did not release the update that way, but my best guess is, that you did not want to have your servers overloaded, so you decided to release the SIs in batches so the load of the servers is less than it would be otherwise. In the meantime there are many reports of problems with the new version, causing more delays due to attempts to fix the issues before releasing more SIs.

So basically instead of admitting a mistake, Sony is playing it cool hopping that this will be forgotten. Well I have news for you - customers rarely forgot such massive failures as updates to ICS 4.0.3 and 4.0.4.

By the way, asking the users to "Don't forget to mark the Correct Answers & Helpful Answers" is kind of arrogant, when you do not provide a correct or helpfull answer.
