Why does my Sola run so many unnecessary in the background?

I got the GO TaskManager EX from store and have been using it for a while.

You tell me that Sola has 512MB RAM. I understand that some applications are compulsary, and some RAM are used for other stuffs.

TaskManager displays 368 available RAM, of which many are used by System Processes. I'm fine with that.

But why are stuffs like "Recommender", "Music Player", "Liveware Manager", *Some random other applications that I rarely open* running on the background when I have not even openen them for days?

How do I permanently close these applications? I've tried clearing their data, but that means it basically clears every thing that I have keyed in before. If for example I clear WhatsApp data, I have to re-register my mobile on WhatsApp.

You can go to the Settings > Apps > All and "Disable" the unwanted apps like Recomender and Twitter.  I also uninstall the Office app that comes wth the phone as it always residence in the memory.  Instead I use Kingsoft Office.  Liveware Manager is useful if you use NFC or earphone.

Moreover I'd suggest you not to use any Task Manager or Task Killer apps.  They will consume unnecessary battery power.  Andriod 4 manages its memory well.  You don't need a foreign task manager to killer to help with the job.

check which apps are constantly draining your battery

charge your phone 100% > use it as you normally do > once it reach 10%

go to settings > battery > take screenshots of

1) the whole list

2) the graph

3) tap on the top 4 items and post the info here

to take a screenshot press and hold for 2 seconds Power & Volume down

DO NOT install any

Taskillers

Antivirus

Battery apps

RAM apps

this apps will drain your battery and make Android unstable

Hello Tilden,

thanks for your reply.

I've checked my Settings > Apps > Manage > All.

However, there is no Disable, only "Force Stop". But when I Force Stop something, it appears again after a few minutes.

you will only get that option to Disable with ICS (4.0.4) not with GB (2.3.7)

Hi rhexis,

the ultimate solution you can choose as a normal user would do is that try "Clear Data" of an app that you don't use or rarely used...

Weirdly, the app will not auto start in the next reboot of your phone... :3

Other options such as how to remove the app permanently from the phone,  I recommend you go to XDA forum or conducting any experienced users here like uliwooly but it is really dangerous and might potentially lost all the functions of the phone...

I see. Thank you so much.

I'm still contemplating whether or not to upgrade to ICS after reading the forum regarding all the bugs it has..

Should I?

Thanks for all your responses.

It sucks that I always only have 30MB available RAM. I'll see what else I can do.

well if you don't have the ICS update available you SHOULD create a backup of your current firmware

if not then you can update to ICS if you don't like it, you have 2 options to downgrade

1) take it to a Sony repair center

or

2) manually downgrade

also if you do update to ICS run the update as soon as its done updating, this will correct any issues or lag.
