Why camera button can't start 60fps filming?

Hi,

I have always setted my camera app to shot video at 60fps and it works great.

But... why quick launch can't start filming at 60fps (it does at 30fps only)? It is so difficult?

Quick launch will start the camera at default, if it's picture will be at superior auto mode

I hope some time in the future Sony allow us to start filming at our desire mode with the quick button.

It can't be so difficult to do... 🙂

This has been asked in the past for other devices, like the camera to start on 15 or 20 MPx and not on superior auto. I think it has been forwarded to Sony but we can try to forward it again.

A reason why it can't be implemented is that quick launch should really shoot a photo quickly, but if you have different settings, it might take some more for the photo to be processed.

This is a topic I wanted to discuss.

There is a big difference between videos at 30fps (Steadyshot Intelligence Active) and 60fps (Steadyshot STD).

IMO, 60fps (Steadyshot Standard) is much better.

So, Sony should let the user choose the recording mode for the lockscreen...
It's stupid to have 2 difference instances for the camera, 1 for lockscreen with default values, 1 for the rest scenarios with user values.

This is not a "big change" for the firmware and it's something that will enable users (that prefer their values) to use the camera from the lockscreen.

To sum up, the Z5 series "camera from the lockscreen" is only available for users that want to use the default Sony camera with default Sony settings, not for:

- users that want to use the default Sony camera with user settings

- users that want to use another android camera from the lockscreen.  (I'm adding this, because other brands, like Motorola, let the user change the lockscreen camera, Android just asks what's the default camera from the lockscreen when a new camera is installed). This should also work with the Z5 camera button.

This is what information I managed to get.To be sure that you capture the moment as fast as possible without the need of any manual settings, the quick launch of the camera is always set to Superior Auto mode. When starting the Camera app from your Home screen, it will remember your last used camera settings.

If I have locked my phone and use the dedicated buton to launch faster the camera and try to swipe to manual mode.. They some a pop up saying I need to unlock the phone... What reason? Eventually I Don has access to the preview photo, but is very uncomfortable need to unlock with the pattern or code to read launch the camera and swipe again.
That's a ver important correction.

I believe it has been asked before, but I'll escalate this, I think it has to do with security issues.
