which is the better smartphone overall- sony xperia S or xperia P?

hi. i currently have the xperia neo. im going  to buy a new fone, but cant seem to decide between the xperia S and xperia P. i have read too many reviews about the 2 fones, but as u know reviews can be deceptive. so i wanna know form u...the actual users. for me budget is not a problem at all, wat im looking for is "value for money". some of the things i have found most(if not all) reviews agree upon are-

1. the display of xperia P even though smaller is better than that of xperia S in terms of color banding and reproduction as well as consistency...courtesy White magic tech.

2. the camera of xperia P produces more acceptable results overall, even though its less in MP.

3. the audio quality of xperia P(esp. with headphones attached) is just a bit better than xperia S.

4. almunium unibody of xperia P is better than matte plastic of xperia S.

i also found in a youtube video showing head to head comparison of the 2 fones that, the xperia S display gives oversaturated colors.

now i want to know from the users of these 2 fones their thoughts regarding these points n share their views regarding which is the better fone overall. we can forget the price n specs here. i know that the xperia S is higher in specs in almost every department. just keep in mind the "value for money" thingy here...n decide which smartphone really excels..

thanks.

But what ever said battery life in P is disappointing but promised to improve on the arrival of ICS.

Guys but i love the way my phone gets charged,it takes less than an hour for complete charging...so thats not a concern i blv, even USB charging on the go is fast and quick.

And For EXMOR lens, yes it does have exmor lense, and i have just captured a video which is half an hour and was amazed when i veiwed it in my laptop, its full HD and ultra clear and vivid.

Headphones & Charger with USB Cablel ike i said is ultra quality from sony(thicker and more durable).

Battery nonethelss last for me with internet usage and calls upto 10 hours, though i use a lot of music as well.

WHat according to me is a value for money,if you love the sony brand...best phone till date from sony...

Rest Is Up to You guys...

from a really happy P user

Hi milesfastguy2

I have both Xperia P and S

S has a old chipset and S has so many competitors will be ruled out soon like - ION, ACRO S etc... and the price also is high

trust me screen on P is a little better if you are a guy going outdoors always Slightly_smiling_Face

and price also less the build of P is excellent as my phone took lil damage with ease S on the other hand has hard plastic body and more prone to damage.

GO FOR SONY XPERIA P Slightly_smiling_Face you wont regret cause of new hardware and similiar feature... Slightly_smiling_Face

@brapi- the camera of xperia P is certified Exmor-R sensor. i used n tested it in various environments and lighting conditions. there is no way that the Ray would produce better results than it.

hi Deepankar. thanks for ur suggestion. as a matter of fact i already bought the xperia P 3 days ago :smileyhappy:. i even updated it to ICS. it works top notch. the only thing that disappointed me was that after ICS update the only change to the music player was the addition of visualiser, which i feel is trivial. i was really expecting things like Clear Stereo and FX booster. also i somehow liked the interface of the older 2.3.7 music player more with its big fonts n slightly bigger album art.

anyways, i also found the battery backup got better ever since i upgraded to ICS, though dont expect it to last more than 3 days. and as deepz pointed out, the phone charges really fast, so its not a problem even if u have to charge everyday. also as a rule, the battery of a new phone takes sometime to "evolve
".

camera n video works flawless. the only spot of bother i found was that audio volume level in a recorded video was a bit low. also, the ability to pause video recording(if it was present) would have made this a killer of a device. dont know why Sony dont implement it..

@miles dude try checking the photo comparison tool at gsmarena, compare it w/ ray Xperia S and P, i was shocked that my ray took better photos as compared to P, P has a very noisy camera. produces pale colors..

yeah xperia P takes noisy photos when in low light. but still better than Xperia S.
