Where to find an external microphone for Xperia Z3 Compact?

Hello everyone,

I am planning on making a short film with my Sony Xperia Z3 compact and trying to find a solution for the sound.

I've read on other forums that most of the microphones are not compatible with my device.

Can we add an external microphone to the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact ? If the answer is yes, can you recommend any or one in particular?

It should not be a problem to use STM10 with Xperia Z3 Compact.

I have a similar Problem.

I Have an Edutige ETM 006 and want to use it with my Z3 Compact but its a 3 Pole Mic and there are just adapters from 3 to 4 Pole.

Causwe the Z3 is a 5 pole? i need an other adapter i think.

Do you know if there is an adapter available ?

Hi B-Hard. I have been looking for exactly the same thing. 3 pole to 5 pole adaptor. I am trying to get some Roland Cs-10em binaural earphone mics to work on my Xperia z3, but so far no luck. I also wondered if there was a way to do it via bluetooth. eg a device that you plug your microphone into and then connect to that device via bluetooth, but I dont think you can connect the microphone of the z3 to a bluetooth device. Its a real shame. Have you had any luck with bluetooth adaptors yet? It seems like such a simple thing that should exist!

Hey, yes I got my external mic working!

I used this adapter:

It works also with other external microphones that I'm using.
