If using SUS to update (Sony Update SErvice) it was easy to locate the FTF in this directory C:\Program Files\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs\
I was using PCC while updating. I cannot find the FTF file. Do you guys know where I can get it?
Please help.
TIA
[Guide] How make a FTF of stock firmware from SUS files - xda-developers try this it may help you.......
Thanks kinglauryl but no luck.
The FTF for PCC is not there.
I already checked C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Engine but the db is not there.
use the link I gave you in downloading ftf..........
The files you're looking for are not the actual .ftf files - that's the firmware in its final, converted form. The files you seek should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db (if you're on a 64-bit version of Windows) or C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db (if you're running a 32-bit version) and they have no file extension whatsoever (e.g. mine were FILE_279066729, FILE_279771070, and FILE_279771133).
Still can't find them? A search for the db folder in C:\ProgramData\ might yield some results (press the F3 key and type it in, then let Windows do its thing). If that still doesn't work, then they were probably deleted by PC Companion shortly after the update.
Those three files represent the firmware in its encrypted form, so you'll need to use flashtool to decrypt and convert them into a usable form first (i.e. the .ftf you're looking for). See the link in kinglauryl's post for further details.
None so far really worked.. I still can't find the FTF file from PCC update.
but thanks anyway.
are you aware that you are NOT going to find an FTF file but 2 files that you will use to create an ftf file?
Yeah.. I am aware of that.. It's in fact three files..
Do you mind sharing how/where I can find the fiels boss uliwooly?
In the past I was able to find the ICS ftf file using SUS [Program Files\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs\].
But for JB, I updated using PCC, but I cannot find the files for FTF..
.............why not just download ftf files from the internet ...................
Good point.. another 200-300MB download though..
and you wouldn't know if it's a good source unless it's from Sony themselves..
Thanks
