As a user od the Symbian OS v3 (N95) and then S60V5(5800) I am quite fammiliar with this software and the way it works. When I first bought the 5800 it was very bad but with every new firmware update it received everything, we, the users expected(like kinetic scrolling etc.). When I bought the SE Vivaz Pro I tought that Sony Ericsson will be quite fammiliar with the shortcomings of the 5800(as a pioneer in the S60V5) and implement the corrections made there. But instead I ended up with a phone that is more limited then the 5800 with the first software. So here are my viewings of what the SE Vivaz Pro must implement so it can really use the full potential of the S60V5:
-Kinetic scrolling in the menu
-Kinetic scrolling in the phonebook
-Kinetic scrolling in messages, emails
-Kinetic scrolling in the web browser(which in my opinion is even faster then the one 5800 had)
-When in call the screen should lock itself(since it lacks proximity sensor)
-When locked and incoming call arrives it should have something like swipe to answer so you don't accidently answer while in your pocket
-Some better way of locking the phone becase the button is not the best decision(maybe its the worst I have already seen)
-Free navigation(not some trial and with no possibility of downloading the maps previosly)
I would appriciate if anyone adds its comments on something else that should be fixed because the design is great and this can be a very good phone but now with this software, to tell you the truth I want my old 5800 a lot more.
Yes, the kinetic scrolling is a MUST, please SE at least update that before abandoning this phone with updates.
Also, i have some suggestions:
- The keyboard needs more functions. For example, you cant use "Back", or "Options" while navigating with the keyboard through the menu. It should be more user friendly, not just for typing messages, but as an alternative way to use the phone without the touch.
- The Vivaz pro and the Vivaz need the DivX/XviD support. I dont see why it shouldnt be implemented, i am tired of converting the videos to mp4. Also because there isnt an alternative to this, since i tried all of the Symbian players, which they can play the files, but with extremely low framerates.
-Fix the ridiculous noise and very low camera quality on the Vivaz pro! I mean, i know the camera is downgraded from Vivaz, but lagging so much at reduced light, makes the videos and pictures look like they are taken from a cheap device.
