Water resitant?

So I just got the phone today and I was told about the water resistance of it and how it lasts 30 mins in 1.5 m of water. The sales manager at costco told me that he used this phone in the shower and it's perfectly fine and he even spilled water all over a demo phone to prove it's resistance. 

I do believe the water resistance of it but I'm still scared about causing water damage even after takinga ll the precautions of sealing it and not being in water for more than 30 minutes but I was wondering. Does Sony offer any help or repair if my phone recieves water damage even though I have not done anything wrong? Just want to know before I attempt using it in the shower.

Personally I would be very cautiious about using the phone in a shower, as you are introducing additional water pressure (over submergence in still water) steam and water temperature factors into the equation.

There are a fair few stories on this forum of water damage warranty claims being turned down for this phone even though it is  advertised as water resistant.

The phone is waterproof in fresh water up to 1 m and 30 minutes.But in the shower,try not to let the water jet enter in direct contact with the device,the pressure is higher.
