Water Damage?

Well, today i washed my phone for a 10-15 seconds ports were completely closed (even i put my fingers to the ports to make sure while washing) and after washing i dried it with a towel and even i checked the ports if there's water inside but it was compelety okay. After some minutes i noticed that my screen getting weird white spots. How could water damaged my phone? I closed the ports everything was okay. How can this happen? What should i do and how to fix it?

And also, water damage is in that red area there's no port on there how did this happend?

PS: Photo is not mine, i found it on the internet but damage is just like mine's.
