Hi Sony support group, are you going to address our issues regarding the problems with the walkman app following the jelly bean upgrade, or are you going to continue to ignore us??

The Sony answer is:This question is Assumed Answered.

Sony, you may assume that this query we have IS UNANSWERED!! What is the solution to our Walkman (one of your provided applications I would remind you) problem, a problem which is the result of YOUR Jelly Bean Upgrade??

Same here.  Poweramp and Google Music seem to work fine so it is isolated to the Walkman app (a main feature of a Sony phone) hopefully Sony can just push out a simple app update via Update Centre.

Edit: Spotify works well also. Phew!

We have forwarded this problem for further investigation. I don't have any solution to provide at the moment but as other music players seems to work that would be a temporary solution.

Thank you Rickard, it has taken a long long time for Sony Support to let us know this, perhaps you might understand our frustrations. I hope that Sony don't just continue to sit back paralysed with their lack of a proper solution and we can have detailed guidance in the not too distant future.

Dear Rickard,

Please note that walkman app in Xperia V has the same problem.

Dear Rickard

Amazons MP3 Player has the same issue of not being able to move to the next track when the screen is locked on.

I tried using the walkman app when I first got the phone, but it just couldn't compare with the music player on my N8 which this phone was supposed to replace. I only ever use the music option when in the car, but when plugging in to the auxiliary jack in the car the sound is scratchy and tinny and you can't play by FM (unless there is an app for that). The user interface is very poor as well.

Less important to me as I don't use headphones, but the much-hyped free headphones ('worth £200' :smileyalert:) that came with it had a lead that was about 6 inches long so they are basically unusable even if I wanted to give them away.

I'm using the N8 for almost everything now - camera, music, file sharing ...

The walkmann app is useless now. The time between songs is way too long (sometimes minutes after finishing a song). Also when in the app itself and swyping through the songs the animation goes wrong and text flashes etc, also playback is horrible then. I use Google Play Music now and that works very good and can recommend instead!
