w8 update

when can we avail an android update for w8? it was such a nice phone, i also want to ask if there's any possible way i can save my android applications to sd card because phone memory is poor and i love downloading new stuffs for my phone, i just bought it a week ago and i hope you could help me, thanks!

As per sony, X10 Mini/Mini Pro, X8 & W8 will not have Froyo, much more, Gingerbread update. I suggest you use custom ROM instead...

Its really sad that SE dont give latest update to X8/W8/mini's...Any way I rooted and upgraded to 2.3 with custom ROM,WOW What a difference!!!....JUST ESCAPED FROM THE PUERILE CLUTCHES OF ANDROID  2.1 a.k.a ECLAIR...and its working very well in my W8,So i cant understand why SONY dont release the much deserved updates to us.....Its actually very annoying,even Galaxy Y of Samsung a less expensive phone than my W8 but similar to W8 hardware ,has Android 2.3...WHY THEN SONY YOU BETRAYED YOUR TRUSTED CUSTOMERS AND KEEP REPEATING "NOTHING BEYOND ECLAIR"..........................This Eclair is very UNSMART OS...

You can upgrade by rooting your phone which will of course void your warranty and if done wrongly may damage your phone as well.But from my personal experience it is an easy process

Now I have unloacked my boot loader,installed custom kernel and now enjoing Ice Cream Sandwich in my W8 without any problem
