Video Calling on Xperia Z

Can someone please tell me how to make a video call on the phone? There is not option on the keypad, this was always possible on the samsung

windows mobile doesn't support this, iphone/iOS doesn't support this, Android doesn't support this; symbian does, and few androids in certain countries.

Hi all . I cannot see how to make a video call. (not skype) There are no instructions in the manual !!

as you can read on myriad threads, video call without a data plan it is not supported natively by Android, there are few androids in certain markets that have this option but again it is not a native android option, you need to either use a data plan or wifi to place a video call .

yes  I have a data plan . I have just come off a Galaxy 2 which gave option prior to calling . The network is 3g here and 4g in the city

indeed that phone does have that feature but it is not available on any xperia nor most androids as its not native for android. you will need a data plan or wifi and use gtalk, or skype or tango, etc.

I cannot find how to make a video call ! I am just off a galaxy s 2 and it would prompt before dialing. email outgoing wont save pop 3 settings it says it does not support it and changes it. incomming is fine?

Will Sony give any updates on native video calling??

this is not supported by Android (natively) it was requested to be added long ago but its highly unlikely it will be incorporated but that's my opinion.

The phone does not support standard video calls over 3G but you can place video calls over the internet using for example Google Talk or Skype.

Are you sure that you have the correct SMTP-settings? When you enter the SMTP-settings and try to go to the next step the phone will verify if the settings works and if not it will not store them.
