Do you have usb debugging mode enabled?

@Sam: Its not working...i uninstalled the drivers, waited for sm time with data cable still attached and nothing happened. I waited for around 30 minutes. Then i unplugged the cable, plugged it again, same problem.
@alexdon i tried both, with debugging on and off!!
On the Xperia U section,I have seen people complaining about the phone not charging.Someone said it is hardware related,at the charging hole.
Any idea how to solve the problem??

That is different...in my casephone is acting normal towards charging...let it be using charger or USB via PC. It's just that I can not open my phone on PC as when i connect it, charging LED gets on but error comes on PC - "USB not recognized". There is no problem with charging.
Are you willing to try a repair of software?
I am tired of repairing software for every problem...any other solution??
