USB MASS STORAGE

After the software update to ice-cream sandwich connecting my Xperia S via mass storage got disappeared. So many post had replies saying go to Settings- Xperia- USB connection – connecting mood. I have to tel you, there’s no such option. Please help. I am in need of this option urgently. Please give me a solution. Can’t fix ma Phone to any other PCs to just transfer files. Plese Help!!

that's because the Xperia S only supports MTP not MSC

how come then i was able to do that b4 the software update??? so does this mean that i will never b able to connect my mob on the go to any PC??? thats SAD

It has never been able to be using any of our phone's that doesn't have a memory card slot as a mass storage device, only MTP mode I'm afraid.

For now that is how it works, and we'll just have to wait and see if any changes might be coming for the future.

Oh Gosh.. thats bad... Mass storage or whatever way i don’t know, I thought I  was able to get inside my phone without installing the software...

But that’s very bad.. Why would u guys do something like that??? that’s rely important for us to connect on the go... there are PC's without net that does not support pushing the software to the PC either. Now am having big prob connecting to my office computer coz earlier i used my old phone to connect that way coz we are not allowed to install software’s to our PC's at office.

Anyhow, started using Sony coz i wanted android and i hate Samsung. you guys really don’t have user friendly options. For an example, PC support is so bad. Sony developers should use Nokia's PC suite and learn from it.

• Backup Calendar from outlook straight from the pc or without outlook
• Copy those important messages you receive from important people
• reply and receive messages without even touching your phone via Bluetooth or USB
• copy and paste contacts manually to PC and Mob

  As my 1st phone from Sony, i was so excited, but now am so disappointed coz am not able to do some of very important stuffs that i used to do with my Smart Phone

Hey Petter,

My friend has a Xperia pro thats not updated,  , at least it gets connected as a digital camera on windows... where my newly recommended updated phone is not even  recognize without the software do u have an answer to that please????

it should work, I have the Xperia S too, connect your Xperia S > go to Computer > Xperia S > internal storage > boom, you have access to it all
