Wonder if anyone can help me. I'm travelling in the UK from Australia and forgot my charger. Online everyone says it's a micro USB, but when I bought one it doesn't fit. The port is rectangular and the usb connector is trapezoid-shaped and won't fit or charge the device. Been to a couple of computer shops and they all say the Xperia Z has a unique posrt and thay don't stock the correct lead. I won this tablet in a competition in September 2013 and don't have manual or anything here. Any helpful ideas out there would be greatly appreciated as I've been without it now for 3 weeks. Thanks in advance.
It is a Micro USB cable that you need but there are two type Micro A and Micro B - The pinouts are the same and a Micro B will fit into a Micro A slot and charge and or work, What you have is a Micro B cable and your port is a Micro A but it should still work and fit
Forget the above just double checked and no it won't fit or work but there is a Micro AB cable which works on both which is what I have and led to my mistake, However if it's just for charging and you have a mains adaptor then try a magnetic charging cable
My Xperia Tablet Z uses a normal micro-USB lead to charge, same as my Xperia Z1 phone and my camera.I can't imagine that Australian ones would be different.
As far as I know there isn't a magnetic charging cable for the Tablet Z like there is for the Table Z2.
I thought there was a docking charging station for it - If not then you learn something new everyday
Hi Guys,
I can clarify that the Xperia Tablet Z does have a charge cradle. It can be viewed on the following link.
