Update Vanished after downloading

Checking for system update on the phone showed an update build no. 23.1.A.0.690 which apparently is Android Lollipop was available via PC Companion only. So I conected via PC and followed the instructions. It took a while to download the Android L update and message prompted that the device will turn off. The device then turned off and the message on the PC Companion said that there was no updates available.

Now even my PC Companion says I'm running the latest version which is Kitkat. I tried checking for an update over phone.  It says I've got the latest version. What did I miss here? Anyone faced the same problem. Or is it that Sony withdrew the update?

On 8th of april , My phone received an update and when i tried updating it via Pc companion it failed to prepare my computer for the update showing Sony Update Engine Failure (error 1200). And then neither my phone shows any update nor the PC companion. Tried reinstalling PC Companion. Met all the system requirements. Still problem is unsolved.

This is my worst experience ever... Sony doesn't care for their customers.. You bought the phone and we got our money and now we don't care whether you get the update or not.. This is Sony's motto....
There are more than 40 comments in this thread and still they didn't even bother to answer...
From next time I will never go for Sony..because of the worst customer care...

Hi , i recently want to update my z2 . Then it says error 11 affter the preparation begins. 

It says unable to contact to sony communication engine

turn off firewall/ antivirus

something like this, i tried to unistall and turn off firewall/antivirus and try again but still the same error appear.

Buying a phone for this much money nd still no updates where most of other brands got it already.. Nd when called in to Indian customer care, they saying dat once I get d ota update notification, I have to take it to a service centre for d update.. Then y dey r releasing a ota? Lol.. Sony really s getting so pathetic...

Same issue guys. After spending hours on updating and reseting still no result. Moreover the customer care is pathetic, they can't even understand the issue properly. Sony is worst in providing updates and customer care.... Never gonna buy another from sony.....

My Xperia Z2 was showing the Lollipop update and I'd put it download as well but it suddenly disappeared and now when I check for softwre updates it does not show the Lollipop update as available. Even when I connect it to the PC Companion which was showing that Andriod Lollipop update is available is now showing that my is updated to the latest update. Why is it not shoowing the Lollipop update when my Xperia Z2 is still running on Andriod Kitkat?

I think it was pulled from distribution as a new updated version of Lollipop is starting to be released with a few bug fixes and a close all recent apps button but don't quote me on that
