Checking for system update on the phone showed an update build no. 23.1.A.0.690 which apparently is Android Lollipop was available via PC Companion only. So I conected via PC and followed the instructions. It took a while to download the Android L update and message prompted that the device will turn off. The device then turned off and the message on the PC Companion said that there was no updates available.
Now even my PC Companion says I'm running the latest version which is Kitkat. I tried checking for an update over phone. It says I've got the latest version. What did I miss here? Anyone faced the same problem. Or is it that Sony withdrew the update?
I can't follow the instructions 100% as at the beginning it says in Preparation
"
1) Enable ‘USB debugging’ on your handset: Settings > Developer options
2) Enable ‘Unknown sources’ on your handset: Settings > Security
I can't start my phone, all it shows after pressing power ist the Sony logo with the black screen.
You may not need to do that - Often that's a just incase scenario
I can start my phone again.
But it says it has android version 4.4.4 ._.
Well at least I can start my phone again and use it...
Did it start of it's own accord or did you run a repair or manual flash as above?
I used the tutorial which you linked. Flashing manually.
Awsome - Glad it worked for you
Yes. I'm also glad the phone works again, even if it isn't Lollipop.
I have a small question.
I used this CDA (Telekom), because the phone card I use is from a company which is a subsidiary of Telekom (or smth like that)
My question:
Can I flash my phone again using the "Customized DE" version and would that also be Version 5?
Looking at your image the Customized firmware listed is the Generic firmware and is Lollipop so you could go through the procedure again but grab the Customized firmware and have Lollipop
Just so there's no confusion the CDA is 1281-4640 and the firmware version listed as per your image is 23.1.A.0.690
