Update of death

Went to update to new software

With full battery

Started it...

         Took shower......

Out of shower.....

And the red notification light was on. And now the device won't turn on.., can't plug into pc. ..

And if I plug in charger, the light just comes on red...

No clue what's going on... hard reset doesn't work... no combination of buttons being held down. .. nothing. ... 

PLEASE someone help

That's odd, connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for 2 to 3 hours > check again.

Some went terribly wrong during the software update process, the one post boot where Android recompile the packages. It can happen, not only to Sony.

Now, what happened is that the battery drained totally to 0 probably because android got stuck trying to recompile one app. Leave the phone charging using the original wall charger, give it some times. When battery is really 0 the device won't turn on immediately. Once that you will be able to turn on the device, probably android will start the optimization process, pay close attention to see if this time it ends but leave the device connected to the charger.

Just got home. ... still dead

So sony made me download the pc companion and repair the phone.... it was all going well... started the update.... than the phone wouldn't stay connected... it kept aborting saying I unplugged the uusb which I did not

Still no screen... cant tell if it's on or off...

And still only red notification light when I plug in charger...

I love this phone and everything was working fine. I was excited for the new update... 😕
