I've just tried to install the update. The PC companion recognizes the phone, downloads the update, turns the phone off and then halts. After a while the instructions are shown that I need to plugin the phone into the USB while turned off and with the volume down pressed. When I do that there is a short green-red flash of the LED and then nothing.
Try again with SUS
Turn off your phone > press and hold volume down > connect the USB cable < do not release the volume down key) > wait

No joy. Hangs the same.
Is there another computer that you can test? also make sure to disable your firewall and/or antivirus
I have the same problem. Can't get past the "hold volume down" and plug in the use cable into the phone. Nothing hapens on either PCC or SUS. I tried the other way aswell, holding power button and volume button up and also nothing happens.
I'm clueless.
Samsung's Kies never had it this uterly complicated to update a phone's software.
For me switching to Windows7 (instead of WindowsXP) solved the problem.
I am on win7.
Never mind. Recieved an OTA update yesterday and updated my phone that way.
Don't seem to have any issues that other people are noticing with 4.4 kitkat except a lil bit worser battery life.
i think batery life is ok compared with my note
I didn't say its bad, just a tad worse. Still great compared to that disaster that is HTC.
