I tried using Sony Bridge for Mac to update my Z3.
Naturally, it failed (I had massive problems updating the other Xperia I had too).
All my phone wants to do now is say 'The software update failed.Make sure your phone is connected to a computer and try again'. This is, of course, a ridiculous thing to suggest, as my Mac will now not recognise the device as I can't turn it on.
How exactly am I supposed to get this 'smartphone' (HA, I've seen smarter turds) working again?
I have already tried charging it via a wall plug, and reconnecting it to my computer.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer.
open Bridge > follow all the steps to update the phone > do NOT turn on the phone > whenever you are prompt to connect the phone do so but again, do not turn on the phone.
Thanks for your reply, but as I already stated, I now cannot update my phone with Bridge, as Bridge won't recognice my device (because the device will not switch on).
When you connect the phone pressing the volume down key does the notification LED turn on?
How about when you connect the phone to a wall charger?
When connecting to my computer and pressing the volume button down, the LED is initially red before quickly changing to blue.
When connecting to a wall charger, the LED is red.
You need to let it charge until it turns green, that's another reason Bridge won't work
When I charge it at the wall, it is only red momentarily before the error message displays. This happens in a loop, so the red LED lights up, then turns off when it says 'Sony Xperia' on the screen, then the error message appears before the cycle repeats. It doesn't seem like the device is charging.
That's correct, what if you connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for 2 to 3 hours
if that doesn't work, contact your Local support
That didn't work, but thanks for trying to help me.
