Unread e-mails indicator

Hi, I'm using the Xperia S with Android GB for over 4 motnhs. I've set up my e-mail accounts in the pre-instazlled application (E-mail) and from the beggining the application every now and then marks some of my e-mails as unread even if i read them months ago! I've noticed that it especially happens when i delete messages from my PC E-mail Application (Windows Live Mail). The next time Xperia's E-mail synchronize appears some e-mail old and new as unread. Any idea how to fix that bug??

I've seen other users post and say that they need to empty the trash and spam folders to stop the notifications. Can you please try to do this and then see if the notification still pops up?
