Uninstall pre-installed apps (Rogers)

Hi, is there a way to uninstall pre-installed apps from my Xperia Z1?  I'm on Rogers in Canada, and as soon as I put in the sim card, it installed about a dozen Rogers apps that I never use.  Some run in the background eating up my RAM.

I suspect that the phone needs to be rooted through.

You're right, but then you lose warranty!

You might be able to disable the apps though. Try Settings--Apps--All--choose the app--Disable (If the option is available). You can enable the apps later.
