Unable to upgrade to ICS: force closes!

I have had multiple attempts in upgrading my Xperia Go to ICS with PC Companion.

1. everytime after it prompts me to the browser, to "learn more about android 4", i click continue, and it force closes.

2. I've also tried the "update service" package as recommended by previous posts. But again, it force closes itself after it loaded the bar fully in the first page.

WTF? This is very annoying, Sony.

What operating system are you using?

Try re-download and re-installing the PC Companion.

I'm using Windows Vista. I've already tried re-installing PC Companion and Update Service package to no avail.

Speaking of which, just remembered that I have previously attempted to upgrade (it ran smoothly - did not force close) but aborted it midway because I have to leave and just unplugged the phone from the computer. Could that be the reason? How to fix this?
