Transfer to sd card

Could someone help me when transferring photos and videos ect to my sd card when the internal memory is full it tells me that it has been successful but when I goto view them the file size is there but u am unable to view anything at the moment I am having to send my photos to my wife's phone via wats app or fb messenger just so I can save space on my phone and not loose any of my files.

1. Open the File Commander 
2. Look for the Folder or files that you want to transfer
3. Long press
4. Cut
5. Press back
6. Select the SD card
7. Look for the folder were you want to paste the folder or files
8. Paste

@Ian3 You could connect the phone to a computer > and use your computer to transfer the files from the internal storage to the SD card

Make sure to check this 

settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB connectivity > USB connection type > MTP
