Touchscreen loosing touch issue

I got my Xperia Z1 Compact at the beginning of February and I am glad to have my old Xperia ray replaced by the fast and dressy Z1 Compact.

Unfortunately I am suffering from an issue that is well known by many Xperia Z1 and Z1s users. The touchscreen of the phone looses randomly the touch state which leads to bad words during Swype input and unintentional zooming and clicking during internet browsing.

It seems to me the issue appears totally at random and is not so distinct as it is seen on the two other phone models I mentioned above. The touch is lost occasional and more infrequent.

The facts I encountered so far:
- The issue is not restricted to the lower part of the screen but it occurs more often on the lower part where the keyboard is located in portrait mode.
- It doesn't matter weather I touch the aluminium frame or not.
- long touch strokes will end most of the time after about fifteen to thirty seconds
- short strokes loose touch directly after the beginning
- It doesn't matter weather the phone is hot or not.
- It doesn't matter weather there is heavy CPU load during touching
- The issue can be reproduced using the Xperia phone which is pre-installed on the Z1 Compact phone. You have to repeat the touchscreen test sometimes up to five times to see the error, sometimes it happens successively.

I wait for the upcoming firmware update .142, currently there is .114 installed. No other update is available yet here in Germany. If the issue exists after the update I will return the phone and take a look at other brands - sorry Sony!

Hi Hi all, I've experimented the phone without a Roxfit cover for a week and didn't have any issues with touchscreen!!So I guess that was the main problem, the cover. It's magnetic, if you attach a magnet- it will stick. Therefore, I presume, it causes this annoying "jerking" effect on the screen.

             I've already posted on the thread "Z1 compact touch screen and connectivity issues", just to show concern I'm having same problem as Prao.... I've already tried the touch screen diagnostic and this my first time having this problem since I bought my phone since March 2014.... I tried the sketch app by Sony, this screen shot that I've taken and this the result.... Please help...

Hey you guys! Im having same problens here...

Just won a M2 d2306, I dont know if this touchscreen plastic protection is from fabric.

Ive just noticed that when Im charging the phone, it stops all touch problens, from swipe to dificult introduction of some letters in keyboard.

Anyone noticed that too?
