Touch screen unresponsive, please help.

Hi, my touch screen is completely unresponsive; I cannot unlock it or do anything else with it either. It is already 1,5 years old but it has not been falling or been damaged in any way.

Can I unlock the phone in some other way, in order to use the PC Companion for manual restoring? Or what else can I try in order to fix it?
