touch screen sensitivity problem

Hi, I've been having problems with my xperia active's touch screen sensitivity, i don't think this is due to the ICS update, because this started maybe a month before i updated to ICS, basically the phone's no longer sensitive, most especially texting, sort of freezes and has delay in switching or changing characters, i have to press on a key/character 3-5 times to get it to show up, with the keys set to vibrate during texting, you could actually feel the delay, i can't stress out how frustrating it is, i was aware of the ICS toll on the phone's resources but the touch screen functionality is just too painful to bear. bought the phone last january, still has warranty, im sort of desperate and am looking into voiding the warranty and put in a modded android ics or restore the original GB os if it would fix it. Aside from the other glitches, this is the only thing i could not bear, i can't even sell this phone incase i need to if the touch screen functionality sucks.

I really need some advice on what to do, please help...

already tried repairing phone via SUS and tried resetting phone to factory settings, still the same problem, phone's overall touch sensitivity is really bad, i tried doing a service test for the touchscreen, drawing lines on the phone, theres a delay and a skip on the lines and making dots sometimes takes 3-4 touches before it shows up... touchscreen is the only thing probly wrong with this phone, or the only thing i would complain about.

would there be other threads similar to mine? or would you have any other advise? id be willing to void the warranty if i could just find a sure cure for this.
