Touch screen sensing problem

A friend's Z1's touchscreen, 6 months out of the box doesn't respond properly, skips, fails to register touches etc. something like in the video below but in every application... Any ideas and/or solutions around here? I feel a bit bad because I was the one who adviced her on a Sony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0sqwwUoEPc

Sorry to hear about the phone. Do you know if your friend have any 3rd party screen protector on the phone? In that case she might try to remove the screen protector to see if it gets better. 

If the problem persists, I would suggest that you repair the phone software using PC Companion:

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet".

No, there is no 3rd party screen protector on the phone. She received a link from Sony here in Holland, basically the same you sent here. I am just not sure whether she followed the instructions that you have given here so I will do it together with her and see if it works. I will post the results here.

Hey,

it is a well known problem for Xperia Z1 devices (all family). I've sent my phone to service and they've sent me back a new model. Unfortunetly the new one has exact same touchscreen issue. Sent back to service again with a demand for refund, they replied that everything is ok with my unit.

I am really sorry to hear that. So far I have had only positive experiences when it comes to Sony services so I'll stay positive until proven wrong. I had a problem with my first Sony.. The Xperia S; they fixed it properly. My Z got a spontaneous crack in the screen and they replaced it. Sony here in Holland has the best service as far as I am concerned. Of course I do not know elsewhere... Maybe the moderator here can put in a good word for you? Oh... btw... your English is excellent

As soon as I recieve the phone I will test it again. If touch screen problem apears again (and probably it will) I will contact Sony and tell them what is going on. That will be my 4th call to Sony... ugh!
