Consider this case:
I locked my screen at 10:40 pm and the home screen showed time as 10:40. After 10 minutes, when I unlock my phone for some work, I can see the time still as 10:40 which updates to the correct time i.e. 10:50, but with a slight delay.
This should not happen and does not happen in other phones which I have used like Samsung Galaxy (Android 2.1). Is it an OS issue or Xperia issue? This issue can sometime misguide user about the correct time who glances at his phone only for a moment. Is it caused by ICS upgrade?
some people complained about this toooo,it is a glitch from the ui.it takes a little to update the screen.
so??? what is the solution??
and i think it's not only with the clocke widget. it is an issue with any widget that updates on the home screen (like the weather widget) although it is most important for the clock widget.
More than the utility, it irritates me. There must be a solution to this? Or I am not going to buy sony again in my lifetime!!!
the more widgets that you have the longer it will take to unlock, also do NOT install any taskillers, antivirus, battery apps, ram apps, if those apps were needed Google will add them to Android but aren't, Sony has some sort of contract with McAfee so it's included with Xperias.

I dont think I have too many widgets. More over, the problem is not "slow unlocking", it is the fact that after unlocking, the widgets start to update and that takes time. This is just not expected from a smartphone with dual core and 1 GB RAM. Also, I don't have any performance enhancing app apart from MacAfee. What is the use of a smartphone if you do not utilize it by using those awesome home screen widgets that really make it different from a dumb phone.
try a different home launcher app. also remove mcafee > restart your phone > see if that improves performance

you could enable force 2d rendering, and set animation transitions to 0.5x
@Alexdon, by 2d rendering, you mean 'Force GPU Rendering: Use 2D hardware accelaration in applications' ?
yes, force gpu.try that and set the animation for transition and for windows at 0.5x.
Tried. It didn't work...
