Nice outlook and smooth to use. The only problem was the charging time. I think that it might be too long and i found out that it is almost impossible to charge it while using it. Thats the only problem with it.

what do you mean its almost impossible to charge it while using it? is it because of the position of the usb port or while on the dock or is it because you are using it and its connected to a PC so it doesn't charge that fast and since you are using it drains the battery faster than it recharge it?

nope i am using the original charger for xperia tablet z. And i just used it for reading. no gaming no internet connection no music. The battery sign show that it is charging. But the battery percentage dint not increase much. Maybe like 1 or 2 percent for 20 mins. And even i charge the tablet with screen off. It takes 6 hours to fully charge from 10percent to hundred percent. And yea. another issue is that what is the use for the airplane mode? mine is 16gb with wifi only. And i found out that even i choose airplane mode. It didnt stop the wifi connection. And even i switch off the notification. Yet there are still notification. The only working button is silent mode. And why i could not configure the lockscreen wallpaper if i choose the other screen lock mode(pin). It only works for swipe. And why cant sony develop a silent widget or wifi widget just like they develop in Xperia smart phone? I would like to summarise for you so that you could ans me 1 by 1.

1)takes too long time to fully charge

2)airplane mode not functioning

3)notification mode on or off does not change anything

4)lockscreen wallpaper

5)no widget for silent mode or wifi

Come on Sony. This is a great product which i waited for so long time. And bought it on the 1st day it launch in Malaysia. Sorry to say Sony developer a bit lazy and slow. I had been brand loyal to Sony for like 8 years. From CD walkman till now Xperia tablet Z. Plz do something before more customer walk away from Sony product

that doesn't sound good, and that's using the wall charger not a PC correct? regarding airplanemode I've seen this too with the Xperia Z, the whole point of airplane mode is to shut down all radios but it allows wifi on? that's a bug

can you elaborate on 3)

4) if you have a pin or pattern or password you can not change the wallpaper unless you use a different lockscreen app

5) you don't have the tools widget or dragging the notification tap?

Yea. Wall charger. Not PC. Hope Sony would fix the airplane mode bug.

And for 3). What i mean is, the menu bar at the right bottom corner, when i press on it, it allow me to configure my setting for example airplane mode on off, auto rotate screen on off, display brightness. and notification on off. Well my issue is concern about the notification on off. Even i off the notification, yet there are still notification in my tablet. I off it and it should be silent even there is mail or some facebook notification. It shuld be mute and nvr show any notification. I know that because previously i was using an android tablet too. But it just not work in Tablet Z which i believe that it is another bug.

For your ques 5). erm. nope. I mean it does have add widget tools but just not the silent widget and wifi widget. The only way i could put my tablet in silent mode is to press the power button. No widget for that move and it is not so convenience for me. Because even my Xperia Neo V does have the silent widget and wifi widget.

4)lockscreen wallpaper, Well i hope that Sony would allow us to set the wallpaper we want even in Pin lock or other else lock. Because ipad could do that. Why cant Sony do that too?

what do you see when you pull down the notification bar? can you take a screenshot? can you also post screenshots of the widgets (menu)

I have the same issue, now that I am reading this thread. 

I have tried both the official dock and the cable that came with it, from about 10% charge to get it to charge up to 90% or 100% it takes about 9 to 10 hours, roughly! That is with everything off and screen on the black standby state!

I guess it is a problem in all the Tablet Z devices.

Jackie, just to update you, I tried there online chat support and got Hayley, she said to just try the repair utility from the companion, since I have everything saved, I will try this tonight and let you know if it remedies the battery charge time on my Tablet Z!!

I am skeptical it will work, so will let you know either way!

As suspected, this is not a software issue, I tested the tablet and it took from 18:40 until 22:50 to charge from 48% until 100%, this was after the "standard support answer of ~oh you need to run the repair utility from the Sony PC Companion~" 

*sigh* guess I will open a ticket tomorrow and see how far it gets, not really holding out much hope on that though ...
