Android 4.4 update for Xperia Arc s

Hello, android 4.4 KitKat is out and maybe some can inform if this update will be released for the 2011 Xperia Arc s.

Just like when 4.3 was announced, there are no plans to update the Xperia Arc/Arc S, etc to 4.3 or in this case 4.4

The only info is that the Z series and SP will get it android 4.3, and that Sony is testing other Xperias running 4.1 to update them to 4.3 that's about it, check the official news blog for more info.

Why do people keep banging on about Arc & Arc S updates?

They where both 2011 released handset's, they are both well obsolete now.

Sony had enough trouble / embarrassment with the ICS update for both these handset's, face facts the Arc was released nearly exactly 3 years ago, its ancient technology in the mobile world, the hardware just isn't going to be up to the job of running a newer version of Android correctly, it will just be slow & buggy which will just end up annoying the user.

Don't think there is an official Sony way of downgrading the software.

The unofficial way is use the flash tool & firmware files which are all out there on the Internet if you use your favourite search engine.

Make sure to back up ALL your data on the phone FIRST!

I just downloaded this version of Android. And I downloaded the update from that site. And I have the same problem with the phone and its performance. So I was surprised that the new firmware is missing many applications and widgets, which are so needed for convenience in the previous version
