Text message characters. (Music note)

Anytime I send or receive a text message that contains a "-8" in it, it turns into a music note. It's a sixteenth note to be specific. I don't have any type of 3rd party text apps like emoji or anything like that. Anyone know of a fix for this?

Hi, 

The default messaging application will 'interpret' this as a 'smiley/symbol' and show you a note instead of a '-8' just as ':-)' becomes a smiley. 

Unfortunately, this cannot be change so my best suggestion for you is to use another messaging app, like Houngouts or anyone else you can download from Google Play.
