Hi all,
When I receive texts from my girlfriend I receive them from a different number from the one I send to...
For example, if her phone number is 12345678900, I send to that one and make calls fine BUT when she texts me it comes from 123456678900, with one digit repeated (the number has one too many digits and I cannot call it or send texts to it, error messages come up).
I know this may not be a problem with the phone, it sounds more like a network problem (I am on EE and she is on Tesco Mobile).
Any help is appreciated as whilst this isn't a massive issue, it is very annoying as our text conversations are split.
Thank you!
Nope, you are not the only one suffering. Only today I have found out that my phone has been merging many of my friends phone numbers. So 'x' has been texting me- I have been thinking I am having a conversion with 'x' when I have been actually having a conversation with 'j'!!!!!!!! This has happened in the past, where I have to go through the entire phone book and triple check with my paper RELIABLE phone book to see if all numbers are right, which is incredibly tiresome repeating the same fricking process. And please, PLEASE don't not give the worn out advice in repair using pc companion/sue because I feel at times it's the reason why it acts up.
So mate it MIGHT be a reoccurring bug that might never be fixed. Repairing can only do it for so long.
I'm sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately you'll have to repair the software at first. Also try using the phone in safe mode (press and hold volume down during startup) and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, it's related to some app you've installed. You should also ask the operator for a new SIM, just to make sure that isn't acting up.
