Have you rooted or unlocked your bootloader?
Like I said above have your rooted or unlocked your bootloader
About 2 - 3 weeks ago, I got a message on my phone, that there is an update to 5.1. I clicked on the message and for the next 10 days - if not more - , nothing was happening, except for the message that the update was being installed. The phone kept running fine. In the meanwhile, once I realized that there was no update going on, after trying several times to reboot my phone in the hope this would stop any update process, I'd decided to take a long shot and update via sony pc companion. Well, once again I run into trouble, only this time it was on my pc, where I was receiving the message that there was no file to be downloaded on the server. Well... I tried again next day, still nothing. So, I kept living my days as usual until just 3 days ago, I took another shot. BTW, my phone was still ...updating nothing. Oh ...behold, this time the sony companion on my pc, finally found the update file, I followed intstructions and ..hooray!!! I now had an upadte finished on my phone, only.... when rebooted the phone displayed a message of an ...unseccesfull installation! Well, I checked in the "about" section and it says.. 5.1.1 - huh? Furthermore, my phone dialer screen is slightly changed - nothing major and also when checking in system update, I am being informed that I have the latest version. Ok... basically I see nothing new, what's all the fuzz and trouble about?
Anyway, I think what Sony did, is to hurry up and send updates to too many phones at the same time, their server can not keep up and one basically is cued up, until a port or something is available. Remember we talk about phones all over the world. I'd suggest, be patient and ingore the installation progress message. Your phones are still working. The message will one day go away and you shall be free!
@shadi0 If you have rooted ie: installed SuperSU for example then the update won't work meaning you won't be able to update
