system update... pending network

I have never owned such a brutal phone as Xperia m...,won't download pics via text, storage low so had to buy storage card.
Anyways...,system update available three weeks ago...,cannot download via provider or Wi-Fi. How do I upgrade the phone... Just states pending network..
And cannot upgrade my apps.... States downloading, but never upgrades...
Actually sent an email to Sony technical support about pending network...,and no response....

Somebody please help..

What is update service? Trying to update system via update center. There is an icon on my home screen
Can't seem to do anything... I have 32 updates available for my apps,.but can never update.... Status states updating, but will be like that for hours...
I had a Motorola before this Xperia M phone...never been this difficult to update system... Pending network...,other searches via internet shows many people have same problem via Wi-Fi data plan...

Use the link that I posted above and then download a Sony Update Service to your PC, install it and run it. (Windows OS required).

After that, follow the simple steps.

Make sure that your battery is charged at least 60% and if you want to backup your important data, read this topic:

That's the problem..no home computer.. My phone runs everything... No way to update system via cell unless pc involved.... Wow... Again, worst smartphone I have ever owned...

Well then, I recommend you to perform a "Factory Data Reset"( similar effect as SUS).

Go to > Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.

After that try again to update the software via "Update Center" using your phone.

I might just have found the solution. I faced the same problem before downloading the first updates it said pending network. The reason for it was that the sim I was using was on roaming.. and when you are on roaming, you can't download your first Updates. ... then I removed the sim and tried a sim with no roaming (local sim) it started downloading. Then I stopped the download and downloaded updates via wifi. After installing the update, you will be able to download the rest of the updates even if you are roaming... problem solved!!

Hi @hir

Have you check if the SIM of your device is on roaming ?  Because when you are on roaming, you won´t be able to download your first Updates as another user posted.
