Syncing my Sony expria z2

Hello I am new to this board I hope someone can help me. Ever time I try to sync my phone to my laptop running Windows 8 it keep syncing to my phone and using up all my memory.

How are you syncing your phone?

I am using the Sony pc conpanion. I did have a Samsung before and all I had to do was connect it to my laptop using the data cable like I am doing with my Sony and it would just back up my new pictures and videos automatically. This Sony software does a similar thing but just backs up to my phone.

Run PCC on compatibility mode with win7, also, perhaps there's another program on your computer trying to copy pictures/videos automatically.
