Sync email subfolders using exchange.

Hi.

Just bought a Z3 compact, but I can´t get the phone to sync subfolders in the mail client. Or, I can sync it if I go in and do it manually, but I don´t get a message when there is new mail. And seeing as the people I recieve the most mails from have their own subfolders, the phone is pretty useless for professional usa at the moment. 
Is there any way to fix this, or do I have to get rid of my three day old phone?

Open the email app, swipe left to right, show all folders

That is what I would call manually sync of the folder. I am able to find the folders, and check if there are any new mail there, but thats not what I´m looking for.  
I would like the phone to do that for me, and then give me a little message when I have new mail in my subfolders

I see, what if you use Gmail instead, it now allows you to use a different email (non gmail accounts), or perhaps maldroid or ko

I might have to try other clients then. 

I find it strange that it´s not possible, when you can do it on other Android phones.
