Static noise during calls

Hi, I've been a happy xperia mini pro (android 4.0.4) owner for 8 months however today i started experiencing a repetitive static noise thump which appeared during all my calls. I wanted to find out more about this problem eventually any fixes, and if problems such as this would be covered by the warranty.
