Standard charging dock screen rotation issue

When connecting the phone horizontally on the supplied charging dock, the screen wants to change from landsape to portrait (constantly back and forth) and the charging light comes on and off as it changes. did the firmware update first before using the phone so not sure it it was doing it before the update.

have disabled all events in smart connect. i have a pincode for security becuase if an exchange mail account.

any ideas literally got the phone a day ago.

It can happen in 2 situations:

1. you are not using the original wall charger
or
2. you are connecting the dock to the PC

If the wall charger is "weaker" than 5V/1.5A then the phone will not charge via dock socket (it's technically not an USB connector), and because of overload of such a charger you may damage the charger. Original charger provides 1.85A, so a bit more than enough to satisfy this socket.

You must NOT connect the dock to any PC port, you could damage it (or the phone), because PC port provides only 0.5A and this is not enough to charge

I guess it is connecting and disconnecting because of the overload, then tries again, again..

thanks for the prompt reply it must be the power adapter, i think i may have a iphone usb power adapter.

will try as soon as i get home.
