Stamina mode flaw causing overheat, battery drain issues!

After a week of experimenting, I have come to the conclusion that there may be a software error with stamina mode on my Xperia SP. I experienced overheating and battery drain issues with stamina mode active as opposed to normal phone operation with it off.

The problem is that with stamina mode on, the cpu cores run at a constant 70-100% even on standby. This causes the phone to overheat and the battery to be consumed in less that 6 hours.

I have links to screenshots to prove my assumptions.

Here are pics with stamina mode on: (copy and paste them to your browser)

Note the high cpu core usage and battery temp values while on standby.

Here are pics when stamina mode is off:

These should be the normal values during standby.

Sony should take a look at this problem and fix it with the next OS update. People who are experiencing the same issues should try disabling stamina mode and see if it helps. It works for me and I had this phone only a week.

My XSP was eating battery like anything! Then I came across two applications(Battery Stats Plus and DS Battery Saver)which I installed and disabled many apps which were of no use(like I don't use throw, Sony Music, Bigflix etc) and were running continuously. Now, after disabling, there is a significant improvement. Also, my phone's standby battery consumption has improved a lot, performance has enhanced and Antutu score(22004) has made everything clear!

I posted this in another topic but it may apply here as well.

I bought an xperia sp last week and also experienced the overheating and charging taking more than 6 hours. The battery also discharges fast when its overheating. After days of testing, I found that the possible cause of the problem is due to stamina mode. When I disable Stamina mode and manage power saving myself manually, the overheating and charging issues disappear. The only option I keep active in the power management screen, is the "location based wifi". So far I haven't experienced overheating and charging issues for 2 days now. Battery life is better as well.

So you guys might want to try disabling stamina mode and see if that works for you. It did for me.

When I disable Stamina/power saver modes. I just do things manually. Like turning wifi off when not using it. Lowering brightness of the screen when the battery is at 30%. Same thing with Bluetooth, gps, nfc, etc.. I don't use power saver apps since all they do is similar to stamina/power saving mode anyway. They just automate the whole process that I can do manually. So far I haven't had any issues doing things manually. After a week I'll put stamina/power saving modes back on too see if the overheating and battery drain returns. If it does, then it could be a problem with those programs that's causing these issues. So far doing things manually, the average temp of my phone is 33 celcius with wifi on and 3 hours of browsing and charging. When stamina mode was on and it was overheating and draining the temp was at 40+ celcius and I wasn't even playing a game.
