To reproduce:
- open Contacts,
- tap and hold over a contact*,
- tap "Link contact" in the popup menu,
- tap "Show all contacts",
- start scrolling the list up...
The result:
the Phonebook / Contacts application crashes with a message:
"Unfortunalety, the process com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook has stopped"
---
* - the contact comes from google account, this seems to be important.
Hi ! i have tested right now and cannot reproduce your error.
When I tap link contacts then I dont have any option "show all contacts" it just shows all the contacts.
I use only google contacts because is the ebst way and dont want to mess with duplicate entries from various sources like FB, Hotmail, phone contacts...
When I scroll down the list it just works fine. Thoose process is related to social network and this could be the cause of crash. Try to set the filter only to google contacts.
Here is what I found on internet about this crash. Someone has found the solution for himself:
Found the solution, i uninstalled Google+, and the problem was gone
Well, this is a workaround, not a solution ;-).
I have no Google+ installed and this bug ocurs while trying to link a google contact.
When I start with an internal phone contact, the option "show all contacts" does not occur and the bug does not show up.
I am surprised this works just the way round for you ;-).
I would like to add that repairing the phone with SUS does not solve the bug - I tried yesterday.
The only workround for linking is the search option. Otherwise the bug is kicking.
Yes, you are right, this workaround works, anyway I am reporting this bug and I hope that it will be fixed.
Actually there is one more Contact bug at least. Try to remove/rename/do something with group "Cowokers", I've failed derictly and by gmail contact manager.
Oh... I didn't know this one ;-).
