I'm just wondering if the new ICS spell-checking feature has been implemented in Sony's ICS update? It's the only major feature I'm looking forward to (well, along with the removal of the double unlock screens and the new dialer).
I'm not sure what ICS spell check you're referring to but please post a link or more info in detail and I will check.
The inline spell-checking that underlines spelling mistakes in red just like Microsoft Word does.
Improved text input and spell-checking
The soft keyboard in Android 4.0 makes text input even faster and more accurate. Error correction and word suggestion are improved through a new set of default dictionaries and more accurate heuristics for handling cases such as double-typed characters, skipped letters, and omitted spaces. Word suggestion is also improved and the suggestion strip is simplified to show only three words at a time.
To fix misspelled words more easily, Android 4.0 adds a spell-checker that locates and underlines errors and suggests replacement words. With one tap, you can choose from multiple spelling suggestions, delete a word, or add it to the dictionary. You can even tap to see replacement suggestions for words that are spelled correctly. For specialized features or additional languages, you can now download and install third-party dictionaries, spell-checkers, and other text services.

Anyone?
Just upgraded myself and, to answer my own question, as of the .587 Sony ICS update, no there is not a spell-checking feature which red-underlines misspelt words in Sony's firmware.
Sony - I AM DISAPPOINT!!! This was the ICS feature I was looking forward to the most. Please provide a update!!!
isn't that feature only with the Android keyboard not Sony's?
Well, I tried installing an ICS default keyboard as well and did not get red-underlined spelling mistakes with that either. I have no idea where this feature is.
(besides, the ICS default keyboard doesn't work so well with the hardware keyboard on Xperia Pro)
umm is it the full keyboard or a similar keyboard?
I tried a couple of ports on the market:

I think I'll try the raw stock files too and report back when I have time:

Wherever this feature is, it should be in the Sony ROM as is extremely useful!!! (unlike the unreliable Face Unlock :smileysilly:)
