Hi everyone, I'm writing here as I didn't find anything satisfing on italian forums if not something like "take your phone to assistance". I apologize in advance for my English and hope to be clear enough. About 10 days ago both my husband and I bought a Sony Xperia SP. I started using it 3 days ago, he did only yesterday coz not enough time to set it up before. We used same settings for both and we just downloaded a couple of apps. We installed all suggested updates. Yesterday sounds of hubby's phone (after a day only he used it) stopped working all of a sudden. Ring tones, notifies, games sounds, music and all internet audio contents, all silent, nothing had sound on loud speakers. But strangely everything works correctly with earphones on. What could be the problem? Can I solve it without giving phone to assistance shop for a couple of months (knowing timings here sadly)?
Thanks to all who can help
Also forgot to add that we tried already to reset phone to factory settings but had same issues.
Read somewhere in this forum to try to run safe mode and see if issue is there still. If not that's a software problem, otherwise it's an hardware problem (probably speakers could be even broken) then we need an assistance center.
Is that correct?
Hi,
You can download Xperia Diagnostics from Google Play where you can test the loudspeaker. But if it doesn't work from here and you have tried with a factory reset, I suggest that you contact your local support team to get information about nearest service center and how you should proceed in this case:

Thanks for the answer, I realize now that I wrote loud speakers when I just meant speakers. Does Xperia Diagnostics test normal speakers also? Is that an overall sound check?
In Xperia Diagnostics you can test the ear speaker and the loudspeaker. The ear speaker is used when you place/receive a call and you put the phone to your ear. The loudspeaker is the speaker that is used when you play music/the ringtone/notifications and so on.
Xperia Diagnostics lets you run tests on your device to better understand it's hardware and software function. You can for example test the camera/sound/screen function.
Thanks I'm gonna try it asap. I'll post again about results
How about clearing data for smart connect in settings-apps-all?
@ ucef this is not a common problem as I never had this problem with my device when I purchased it and still haven't experienced this problem .@ Sgnap pls check you device to make sure its not connected to any bluetooth headphone after running the diagnostic app to test internal speakers. If this don't solve it , pls try to reinstall the firmware via PC companion or Sony update service via your computer.cheers
