Sony Z3 Battery Problems Caused by WIFI (HELP!)

Hello all,

I have recently been suffering with battery problems with my Sony Xperia Z3, it was fine for a bout a week but then the battery has become terrible going from a fue days use to less than a day.

I have asked sony and was told to preform the Software Repair through the PC software, this cured the problem for a fue days but it came back again.

after much googling and little help from Sony i have found that my wifi never seems to go off.

Going into Settings > Power Managment > Battery Usage > clicking on the graph... you can see how long the phone has been awake and when the GPS has been on and the mobile signal stength and more importantly when the WIFI has been on ....

this shows a constant blue line saying the wifi is never off, despite being in stanima mode and despite turning wifi off, turining location based wifi off, nothing seems to actually turn of my wifi!

what can i do to fix this ?

Please help

(PS i have run CPU spy and the device does say that it goes into "Deep Sleep" )

Have you adjusted the settings in stamina mode to allow active syncing even in sleep mode which will keep the wifi awake for example location based wifi turned on

Hi,I have a similar issue.

I have the same problem with my D6603, the WiFi seems to always be on even when I turn Wi-Fi off or when I activate airplane mode... ( seen in power management and in Status). I have an IP address although the WiFi is off.
The only way to turn off Wi-Fi definitely is to turn Wi-Fi off and reboot the phone.
It drains the battery in standby although I have disabled Wi-Fi location and the ability for Google to scan for Wi-FI (scanning always available)
I think that it appeared with the Lollipop update but I can't be sure. After the Lollipop update, I did a factory reset.

I'm having this same issue, did anyone ever get around to the fix? WiFi stays on constantly in background, even if all settings (Google background scanning etc) are off. I've been fiddling for a few days now n no joy.
