Sony Xperia Z5 battery drain overheating

My Z5 cannot last longer than 6 hrs with normal use, it cannot even last on standby for more than 6 hours. I'm hoping it's just a software bug because since November my phone has been working flawlessly. It also changes very slowly and that's on quick charge using the official Sony charger that came with the phone. It won't even recognize on my pc when I plug it in.

@a00r,

EDIT: Just to be sure, did you perform the full test while it was in safe mode? As in use your device normally from 100% to 10% while in safe mode?

You can try running a software repair, but I think you will have to have the unit assessed by a repair agent. If the software repair does not work, contact your local support team to arrange a repair.

Wait, you are using qualcomm battery guru, that app won't help you as it's for sure interfering with the xperia battery management, first of all uninstal Qualcomm Battery Guru then try to activate developer mode (settings, about phone, scroll down til the end and click several times build number until it say you are a developer now) then access developer options and click to process stats, check which one of the background/foreground app is running atypically 100% of times. An example: If you use Facebook don't be afraid if in the background it runs 100% of the time but be afraid if it does it in foreground.

@a00r, Try the software repair, but if that doesn't help you might have a faulty battery, and will have to contact your local support team for a repair.

@Rnaidusa, As uliwooly said your phone is constantly awake, which would contribute to the large battery drain. It is very likely an app that is keeping your phone awake. Try the same tests in safe mode
