Sony Xperia z2 battery drain

Hi guys I've had my z2 for two weeks now and I noticed that my battery life is quite poor. I have already activated all the power saving tools the phone comes with but to no success. I called Sony and they asked me to plug my phone into my computer and update the new software in which I did. They also told to to disable a few auto update but the main source or drainage is coming from my screen which is set to full and "Adapt to Lighting Conditions" I'm loosing about 3% when the phone is on within 20 minuets without doing anything and when watching a video or running an app it's about 1% in 5 min. Please help or I'll return the phone in exchange for a new one.

PS My screen is buring between 70 to 83% everytime I check it.

Thanks

I contacted Sony and they have sent me a conformation to send them my phone for evaluation. Just to clarify that I have a battery issue. My phone has been been on for the last 2  and a half hours and I've gone down from 100% to 91%. is this normal? The total screen time the screen has been on is 37 minuets, some people say it's normal whist other say it's not. I think I'll go ahead and send it in anyway. Sounds good?

It was on for 2 and a half hours and you haven't used it at all?I think you should send it.

It just was on 90% and played 2 videos on youtube which lasted no more than 11 min and came back 15 min later. latest reading 87%. Fedexing this thing tomorrow.

3% after watching about 12 mins of videos online isn't that bad, depending on the quality and what connection you have used.

I still think I should get it checked. My brothers have a xperia Z and LG G3 and mine seems to loose more battery life then the others when compared to them.

yep this is normal. the battery may not have been charged properly at first usage so the percentage indicator is a little bugged. it might drop from 100% to 63% and then just linger there for a few hours. disable the screen save (30 min max) completely drain the battery by playing music or a movie until dead and then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. this should fix the problem.

Ok so I ran a test stamina mode off, screen highest setting and played a hd video for 15min. The battery fell to 98%. now the phone has been on for a total of  54 minuets  and it's on 95%. Screen is pulling about 76%.

Note that there is no  sim card inserted and no apps are running. The screen has been on for a total of 24 Minuets. Do these numbers make a good reading? I might just be parraniod sicne this is my first smartphone.

Thanks
