sony xperia z1 not starting after random shutdown?

i was playing on my phone on a game and when i started the game the phone shut down randoly so when i got in i put it on charge (which normally fixes it as it has happened befour) it still wont turn on the screen remains balck and the charging light does disply when onj charge i seen another past saying to hold down the power and vol up button and when i do my phone vibrates and the charging light flashes. is my phone broke or have i done something stupid? Thanks for the help.

You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

the pc companion could not connect to my phone. i have tried several times and it failed each time.

Make sure the device is turned off. Do not connect until you are prompted.

how do i know if it is turned off as there is no dispaly the only thing i see is he charging light...?

Force shutdown by pressing power button and volume up at the same time.

no matter how many times i hold it in and my computer makes the connect/disconnect sound it wont work?

Did you keep volume down pressed when connecting?
