Sony Xperia Z USB cover flap seal seems damaged on inside

Now here is the situtation.

ISSUE 1

I bought a Sony Xperia Z on 7th April 2013. Last month I noticed that the flap that seals the USB charging port is not closing properly. After some close lookup it seemed to appear that the rubber seal (or whatever that lining is made of) was distorted from its place and seemed as if almost detaching from the body of flap. As a result, I am worried about the phone’s status of still being a Much Boasted Waterproof phone.

Even when USB charging port Flap is settled (after lots of Hard work), it seems to be out-of-place and airlifted which gives a pretty bad impression.

ISSUE 2

Secondly, the USB charging port itself has a loose connectivity with its charger counterpart port. When it’s laid down for charging, it doesn’t goes fit inside the phone’s port and is loose. As a result, charging doesn’t seem to happen perfectly and I can’t use my phone while it’s charging because a repeated message pops up “UNPLUG FROM SOCKET TO SAVE ENERGY”. This is highly annoying!

A disgusting customer service response

I found out a Sony’s customer care centre in my locality. To my dismay (and your disgrace), they just ended up quoting…

“ parts are not available and we have no further knowledge of  If they ever will be, but we will inform you once they are ”

The impression…

For a reputed mobile phone giant this must be a matter of shame that after selling their HIGHEST PRICED, SUPEREMELY BOASTED phones, they are so helpless at providing after sales support for the customer. Please be noticed that just alluring the customer by your Flashy advertisements and gaudy websites is not what makes us buy your product, it’s the trust in the service and Brand name. “Contact Us” button on your website doesn’t help us until it’s already a few weeks. And there is no way to get a response quickly neither on your website nor any of your TOLL FREE numbers.

Is there anything like AFTER SALES SUPPORT actually in sony's list or just creating mega phones like Z and not caring about how to follow for a service??

Sorry for being rude, I am actully annoyed from customer centre's response as well.

Now its been more than a month dialling numbers and waiting for any reply from questions.in@support.sonymobile.com somebody please help me to raise my complaint before I go rough here with SONY.

Hi there

I also have the exact same problem. The little thin lining of the seal has started to come away, meaning I can't close the port properly. I have had mine since May.

I am taking it into the O2 store later to show them as they were not much help on the phone.

Cheers

I have this same problem. The rubber thin layer of the usb port cover came off and now the port doesn't close properly. This also scares me on the "waterproofability". Existing customers should be considered with the availability of parts especially for a reputable brand as Sony. This is discouraging
