Sony xperia z screen broken but need the files on internal memory

Hi,

I have sony xperia z1 my screen broke over the weekend and is now usuable touch wise and display wise. I need to get the photos off the internal memory but this is proving extremly difficult as I have a pattern password and can't unlock the phone to connect to Sonys software to transfer files. Is there a way of recovering the photos and videos off the phone? I really need them as they are of my daughters first few months and I do have dropbox and memory card so have saved some of them but I need the ones off the internal memory. Thankyou for your time I hope there is a genius out there!

If I bought a HMDI apadtor which has another micro usb apadtor within it in the box. could I then plug the cable connector that is micro usb one end and then usb port the other and plug a mouse into the usb port . In my head wouldn't this allow me to see the screen on my tv and then control it with the mouse?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I'm sorry to hear about your phone and the picture trapped in the internal storage. Unfortunately, as I understand, it's not possible to use and MHL (for HDMI) and USB OTG cable (for connection a mouse) at the same time.

I suggest that you turn to your local Xperia support team to see if you can get help at a service center to get your phone repaired without deleting the internal storage. Please follow the link below to find the contact information for your local Xperia care team:
