Exchange Mail - Subfolder Failure

Good afternoon all.

We are having extreme problems with a particular user.

I have recently deployed over 60 new Sony Xperia Z1/Z1Compacts across our organisation, including to some users with very large and convoluted mail boxes with no problems, however, I have one account who isn't particularly large, however they have a very large amont of folders nested to about 4 or 5 levels at some point.

When we try and connect the account, shortly after beging to sync the main inbox syncs, however it seems the syncing of the sub folders in the background times the sync out, so only a very small numbe of folders, calendar enteries and contacts are downloaded. Also when you go into the mail view, you aren't able to do the swipe pull down (this is how you know it's died). So past that first initial part sync, you never get any further mail (old or new).

We have tested this to breaking point, the mailbox has been consistency and corruption checked, exported, cleaned and inports, extracting the mail account to PST, completely recreating a new account, and several test accounts, and slowly moved messages back across, yet it still fails to work when the entire mailbox is trying to sync.

I have also tested this on a Samsung tabled with Android 4.2.2, iPhone and Nokia Lumia 1020 and these all work fine.

We have also tried the Xperia on both 4.2.2 and 4.3 and both have the same problem. We then tried this on a range of other Sony handsets including another Xperia Z1 Compact, a Xperia Z1 and a Xperia L and T. All have exactly the same problem. Yet the naitive Samsung andoroid mail client works ok.

If anyone knows a way around this, or what the technical limits are for folder structures,  I would be very appreciative.

Currently we are running a complete Sony Xperia workforce, but just have this one user on a Nokia Lumia, which isn't ideal.

I know that was a lot to take in, but hopefully has all the information anyone could need.

Many thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Regards

Neil Cotton

Sorry for the late reply.

It's very hard to say what could cause this and i can't think of anything else you can try. As it only happens with one account i think we would need access to it and forward it to our development for investigation and to see what's wrong.

A workaround may be to try another client in the phone for this user like Moxier, RoadSync or Nitrodesk which perhaps is not ideal either but at least the user will be on the same phone model as the rest of the users.
